✅Open Discussion https://t.co/DrFTMi9DBH

@CleDPH @CityofCleveland @metrohealthCLE This PROPOSED letter is being discussed to aid Cleveland &
Cuyahoga County children in being tested for lead.
The letter is asking to adopt a new standard of care in which all children age 1, regardless of risk status, are referred for blood lead testing. #lead #publichealth

@CleDPH @CityofCleveland @metrohealthCLE @CDCgov @UHRainbowBabies @CuyahogaCounty @LeadSafeCLE @ClevelandClinic @signalcleveland Currently, clinicians must decide if a child is at high risk for lead poisoning. 👀

@CleDPH @CityofCleveland @metrohealthCLE @CDCgov @UHRainbowBabies @CuyahogaCounty @LeadSafeCLE @ClevelandClinic @signalcleveland Dr. Matt Tein, Pediatrician from @metrohealthCLE :
“It’s a great idea overall. I’ve bounced it off some of the other folks in Health Systems who are in my similar role to get their feedback & there is no one who would really object to testing every child at one years old.”

@CleDPH @CityofCleveland @metrohealthCLE @CDCgov @UHRainbowBabies @CuyahogaCounty @LeadSafeCLE @ClevelandClinic @signalcleveland Should lead screening be universal? If not, are there screening compliance issues?

@CleDPH @CityofCleveland @metrohealthCLE @CDCgov @UHRainbowBabies @CuyahogaCounty @LeadSafeCLE @ClevelandClinic @signalcleveland Two main concerns were discussed:
✅ If lead screening is universal & someone has private insurance, who covers the cost of lead testing? Outreach to Commercial plans?
✅Cleveland has many surrounding cities where children of Cleveland receive care; Cleveland only or regional?

@CleDPH @CityofCleveland @metrohealthCLE @CDCgov @UHRainbowBabies @CuyahogaCounty @LeadSafeCLE @ClevelandClinic @signalcleveland A few words about regional lead screening… 🔊 https://t.co/JQu6VzoNSj
